By educational background, I am a chemical engineer from Indonesia; and have been working in an oil & gas company as an engineer for more than a decade. This job has taken me to interesting places, and mostly due to this job, too, I got to live as an expatriate in the most interesting corners of the world, namely Angola, Singapore, UK, Indonesia and Japan. The latter is where I currently reside since mid-2012 when I started my sabbatical to do further engineering study, to accompany my husband, and most importantly, to enjoy Japan.

Travel

Constant moving results in constant need to adapt to new environments. No doubt it has sparked the wanderlust in me; travel has become my passion. I am blessed enough to have stepped foot on more than 38 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Northern America. My favorite travel destinations are those without any sight of Starbucks and McDonald's. Those places are rare to find!

Hatha Yoga and Open Heart Meditation

Out of curiousity, I attended my first hatha yoga class in 2003. At first it started off in a casual on/off basis until it eventually became part of my daily routine that I can not live without. Lead by my wish to learn deeper about the knowledge and to be able to share the benefit that yoga has given me, in 2011, I took hatha yoga teacher training (200-hr Yoga Alliance certified) in Singapore, taught by Don Peers (akashayoga.asia).

Whilst I turn to hatha yoga to bring my physical and mental state into a more natural state, I turn to open heart meditation for my daily meditation practice. The technique that utilizes the spiritual heart for meditation as well as daily life has intrigued me since the very beginning of practicing open heart meditation in 2002, and I was hooked ever since.

I love to learn and I am forever grateful to the teachers that I have met and I have yet to meet. I see yoga, meditation and travelling as means to learn endlessly. I opt for learning as a lifestyle; and be happy in the process.

ABOUT NADIAFEBINA.COM

Nadiafebina.com was started off in 2004 as a personal blog to compensate my love for writing. It had its active days as well as its hiatus moments. Nevertheless it is still hanging on in here until the day of today.

If I see yoga, meditation and travelling as means to learn, I see writing as a mean to share. They are not mutually exclusive to each other, as I found that I learn much more by sharing.
