Time Flies......

.....when you are having fun!
After years of years living a wonderful life in this wonderful place, and after spending 9 months living in this place together with my better half… finally, we need to go. Our next destination is Angola in the continent of africa, but will have to spend 6 months in London first prior to going to Angola for a 2-yr stay.
Do we like it?
The answer is: yes and no.
Yes, because it has always been our ambition to see wider world when we are still capable to do it. Yes, because for myself it is about time to move out the city (it's been too long! :)). Yes, because alhamdulillah both of us (marthijn & I) will be there for an assignment in a field that we are familiar with and with very good arrangement. Yes, because africa sounds exciting, exotic and adventurous. Yes, because the UK thing allows me to stock-up some make-up collection…. :)
Yet it is also no, because we are not yet finished with Indonesia: visiting nice place in Indonesia, enjoying those nice beaches with excellent weather, mingle with nice friendly people everywhere, stay close with family & friends in Jakarta. No, because we are hoping to be able to stay here until 2 yrs from now when the project I have been working on for 6 years is completed. No, because a lot of our plan and to-do-list in Indonesia was targeted to be finished by at least the end of this year… not now! No, because this is a premature leave, we never thought we needed to leave this soon, we are still having a lot of fun here, we are not prepared to leave now…
Of course there are a lot more to say to the "no" part, but that happens to all good-bye's. So let's not put it here now otherwise we're getting too sentimental.. :)
I consider myself as someone who cheers up for any change and loves to be in constant move, but I have to admit now, even I, am attacked too by this goodbye-mellow syndrome. Although my leave will still be a month from now, yesterday there was a nice farewell party for marthijn & I, organized by our kantor. This is because Marthijn needs to leave in 2 weeks and this Friday is actually his last day in kantor. The party itself is a regular sit-eat-speech-drink type of occasion, but what touched me the most is the fact that some people have spent quite sometime to arrange it (and to buy all of those nice souvenirs!) and some came all the way to the place although they need to fight heavy traffic on the way. Thank you guys… It means a lot to me… :)) Family and friends… it is always the hardest part, isn't it? :)
In that party, a wise woman whom I admire said this to me: "if you have to go and the time is now, there must be a master plan that tells you to go now… so just do it, and it will only be fun!" Yup, thanks mam, it will be and I know it. Our time here's up, and we are looking forward to the better plan!
La la la la la la la ….. :):)

Impressive the text about leaving Jakarta, all friends and family and attacking Africa in that way. It stands !! We both wish you all the best and hope to see you soon again because for us, how lucky we are, you come at least half a year quite closer to us now.
